This book covers a wide spectrum of tools, techniques, theory and simulation of AI and Soft Computing. The book introduces an interesting as well as impressive area i.e. cognitive modeling of human brain- definitely a new paradigm in Artificial Intelligence. Soft computing tools has been explained in a lucid manner for the under graduate and graduate students. Interesting programs on Soft Computing has been provided in the book for simulation. Particularly, the program on Genetic Algorithm for robot path planning is quite interesting. Structural organization given in the preface, helps the novice readers, as well as the teachers in covering the course contents efficiently. Another vital feature of this book is that it has been written in such a fashion that the reader can easily know the name contributors of the original research work. As a teacher of AI for the undergraduates and graduate students, I always look at the course contents of the book, coverage of each chapter and as well as the exercise there in. This book is arranged so nicely that, it becomes very easy on the part of the teacher for designing the course in a modular fashion.
